Attila (406 – 453), also known as Attila the Hun or the Scourge of God or "King Attila the Hun", was Khan of the Huns from 434 until his death. He was leader of the Hunnic Empire which stretched from Germany to the Ural River and from the River Danube to the Baltic Sea. During his rule he was one of the most fearsome of the Western and Eastern Roman Empires' enemies: he invaded the Balkans twice, he marched through Gaul (modern day France) as far as Orleans before being defeated at the Battle of Chalons; and he drove the Western emperor Valentinian III from his capital at Ravenna in 452. He reached Constantinople and Rome but refrained from attacking either city.
In much of Western Europe, he is remembered as the epitome of cruelty and rapacity. In contrast, some histories and Chronicles lionize him as a great and noble king, and he plays major roles in three Norse sagas.
This particular depiction of Attila is loosely based on the character created for the BBC tv series 'Warriors' where he was played by Rory McGann [with a nod in the direction of Monty Pythons sit-com]. He appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in , from which no profit whatsoever is being made.
The jury is still out on what the man looked like. Priscus, who knew him, is reported by Jordanes as saying that he was short and broad and bald with a scraggly little beard. However, in the true spirit of Hollywood and fandom THIS Attila's PB is six feet six inches tall, very well put together and good-looking in a rather hairy and brutal way, and, for some reason, had a slight Scottish accent.
Here, if anyone wants, are links to the only bits of his canon that are readily availale:

First Five Minutes
Action Scene
For those who need to know that kind of thing, he would normally have below shoulder length hair, some of which is plaited to keep it out of his eyes, designer stubble, and dark brown eyes. Clothing comprises leather trousers tucked into calf length boots and a heavy tunic of scale armour over a padded linen tunic, over a silk shirt. Abnormally he is a small glazed currant bun, but that only happens when he loses his cool and he returns to normal when he regains control of himself.
Here is the review that appeared in the Independent when the programme was first aired - a masterly summing up:
Attila the Hun (BBC1) was for boys of all ages, a spectacular rendering of history that was part-Gladiator, part-Asterix. Chief Goth, Atmospheric, set the scene while Characteristic did a lot of spitting to establish personality, Esoteric sang a few songs. There were some brooding looks from Homoerotic, until Attila got it in the neck, spat blood over Chronic and Prehistoric and went down swishing his beautiful hairdo (groomed by Carbolic). At least I think that's what happened. I'd double-check before you hand your coursework in, though.
